Our Boomer Technology Circles and Boomer Process Circle members have returned to their firms after our most recent Boomer Technology Circles Summit and the co-located Boomer Process Circle meeting. This annual event brings together firm management, technology and process improvement leaders from around the country to build relationships, share knowledge, and learn about the latest technologies and innovations in the accounting profession.
As always, we enjoyed following the #BTCSummit2023 hashtag on LinkedIn to see the moments that resonated with our members, sponsors and team members. Here are a few of our favorites.
“The networking and knowledge share opportunities
of these conferences are exceptional.”
Boomer Technology Circle member Carl Tiede, IT Manager at Abdo LLP, shared how much he enjoyed connecting with coworkers, colleagues, vendors, thought leaders and friends at the Summit.
Carl wasn’t just an attendee—he also presented a session for his peers, Experiences Moving All Infrastructure/Platform Services to Azure. During the session, Carl shared his firm’s experiences migrating Abdo’s technology stack to Azure to help other members benefit from his expertise. We always appreciate when our members are willing and able to share their experiences, giving their peers a leg up on initiatives they might be considering for their firms.
“Your happiness is not correlated to your circumstances, but to the amount of accountability you take for your circumstances.”
This year’s keynote session came from Alex Dorr of Reality-Based Leadership. Alex’s presentation centered around how the modern role of a leader is less about managing people and more about managing their energy, moving that energy away from drama and redirecting it towards results and happiness at work.
Alex’s message resonated with several attendees, including Jerry Leever, IT Director at GHJ and Myton Fisher, Member at Baldwin CPAs.
Sponsors are always generous with their time and expertise.
One of the benefits of membership in our Circle communities is connecting with solution providers who are happy to share their insights and experience gained from working with hundreds of accounting firms.
Jerry Leever of GHJ leveraged this benefit during a chat with Netgain, where our sponsors shared their knowledge of the Azure infrastructure.
“Bringing process and technology together.”
If you want to improve your firm, where do you start: process or technology? Our members know the answer is both.
Tasha Flowers, IT Manager/Applications at Bennett Thrasher, took a moment between sessions to share a photo of herself and one of our consultants, Amanda Wilkie.
This is just a glimpse of the great moments resonating with our members. What were your favorite moments from the Boomer Technology Circles Summit?
