Kansas City, MO – August 10, 2021 – Three individuals and one CPA firm took home “Bridging the Gap” awards after being honored on August 10 by Boomer Consulting, Inc. during the 2021 Boomer Technology Circles™ Summit in Kansas City, Missouri. These awards honor firms and individuals within the accounting profession that excel in aligning technology and firm management.
Alaina Gump and Adam Wolfe, Wilson Toellner CPA
Alaina Hump and Adam Wolfe, Partners at Wilson Toellner CPA, were presented with the 2021 Bridging the Gap Innovative Project Award. This award is presented to a firm that is constantly striving to innovate — not only to bring their firm forward but also to bring the profession as a whole forward.
Gump and Wolfe implemented a detailed client onboarding process for their Client Accounting Services practice that really vets clients to ensure they’re ones the firm should be working with. They also appointed a specific team member to onboard new clients to ensure consistency.

Courtney Edwards and Chris Gilligan, Bennett Thrasher
Courtney Edwards, IT Director at Bennett Thrasher, and Chris Gilligan, Director of Information Technology at Bennett Thrasher, were presented with the 2021 Bridging the Gap Outstanding Technology Leadership Award.
Edwards and Gilligan do a terrific job of leading their firm from both a technical and management point of view. Between the two of them, they have over a decade of expertise and take a cohesive approach to the firm’s technology needs. They are constantly striving to bridge the gap between IT and firm management to drive their firm and the profession forward.

Henry Silva, CPA, Partner and Chief Operating Officer at KLR, accepted the 2021 Bridging the Gap Contributor of the Year award. Silva tackled a year filled with unprecedented challenges head-on. He is always looking at how to do things differently, innovate and challenge others. His peers say he is open, honest and always giving as much as possible to the Boomer Technology Circle community.
